Sure, you can totally play ACNH without WiFi but you'll miss out on a lot. You won't get updates, can't visit friends' islands or share your cool island designs. Kinda like living on a deserted island for real, but with cuter animals.
WiFi? For solo play, nah, you're all good. For the full experience? Absolutely.
