If you wanna play NBA 2K23 online, yeah, you need Xbox Live. Offline modes are fine without it, though!

No, you don't need Xbox Live. But you'll miss out on all online features.

Yes, Xbox Live is required for online multiplayer. But you can still enjoy all the offline modes and MyCareer storyline without it.

Been playing NBA 2K23 offline. No Xbox Live needed for MyCareer, MyLeague, and single-player stuff. But online, definitely yes.
