Short and sweet: No, being exiled isn't the same as dying. Graveyard? Nope. Exiled creatures are more like being grounded in their room with no dinner.

Nope, when a creature gets exiled in Magic The Gathering, it's not considered dead. Exile is more like banishing it to another dimension. It's out of the game and doesn't hit the graveyard, so no dying happened — it's just chilling in exile, probably sipping on a cosmic latte.

Actually, exiling a creature is the MTG equivalent of sending it to the Shadow Realm. So, no, it doesn't die, it's just off the board and away from play entirely. Graveyard effects don't trigger, because technically, the creature didn't 'die'.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
