Does a creature tap when they attack in MTG?
JiggettingBait路7 months agoYep, in Magic The Gathering, whenever a creature attacks, it gets tapped. This means it's turned sideways to show it's been used for that turn. Tapping prevents it from blocking any incoming attacks on your opponent's turn, so plan your attacks wisely!

Short answer: Yes. When you declare attackers during your combat phase, those creatures get tapped. This is because they're busy duking it out, so they can't defend!
Actually, there are exceptions! Some creatures have abilities like Vigilance that allow them to attack without tapping. So, while most creatures do tap when they attack, keep an eye out for those special cases.
