Actually, when it comes to a reverse mortgage, your credit score isn't the star of the show. Lenders mainly look at your income, home equity, and the age of the borrower. So, while a good credit score can help with better terms maybe, it's not the main thing they're looking at.

Short answer: No. Reverse mortgages focus more on home equity and less on credit scores.

From what I鈥檝e seen, folks with not-so-great credit scores still get reverse mortgages. They really look at how much of your home you own outright and if you can keep up with the related taxes and insurance.
