Nope, baking doesn't count towards the cooking hobby in The Sims FreePlay. You'll need to stick to the actual Cooking Hobby tasks for that!

Cooking and baking are two separate hobbies in the game. Unfortunately, your sim won't become a master chef by just baking cupcakes!

Short answer: No. For the cooking hobby, your Sim needs to whip up those meals, not cookies!

Trust me, I've tried it! Baking delicious cakes won't help your sims with their culinary skills in the Cooking Hobby. Stick to making meals instead.
