Does the Cat-Oven Combo in MTG win instantly?
AlightingTang路7 months agoNah, the Cat-Oven combo in Magic The Gathering doesn't win you the game instantly. It's more of a slow burn that grinds your opponent down over time. Think of it as death by a thousand cuts, rather than a knockout punch. The combo revolves around using Witch's Oven to sacrifice Cauldron Familiar, then bringing Cauldron Familiar back from the graveyard to the battlefield by exiling a food token, which Witch's Oven creates whenever you sacrifice the Familiar. It chips away at the opponent's life while giving you small increments of life, but it's definitely not an insta-win move.

Instant win? Nope. Annoying? Absolutely. The Cat-Oven combo is like that fly that won鈥檛 leave you alone. It doesn't win the game right away but can dominate the board and frustrate your opponent to a win if played well.
As a player who's faced this combo countless times, it doesn't instantly win the game. However, it sets up a solid defense and chip damage that, if unchecked, will lead to a win. Strategy and patience are key with Cat-Oven.
