Does Comeuppance Target in Magic The Gathering?
RuingMite·7 months agoShort answer: No, it doesn’t. Comeuppance is more like a boomerang effect. When you're about to get hit, it throws all that damage right back at whoever was dishing it out. No need to target at all, making it super sneaky.

Nope, Comeuppance doesn't target. It's a broad shield, not a sharp arrow. Basically, it waits until damage would be dealt to you or a creature you control, then WHAM! It deals that much damage to the creature or player that dealt the damage in the first place. So, you don't need to point at anything when you cast it, making it a great way to surprise your opponents who might be overconfident in their attack.
Actually, I think the no-target aspect of Comeuppance is what makes it so powerful. Played it in a game last night, and it completely turned the tables. It's like setting up a mirror – anything thrown at you gets reflected back. Brilliant for unexpected comebacks!
