Nah, copying in MTG doesn't target. When you copy something like a spell, you're just creating a new instance of it without choosing targets again. So, if the original spell didn't target, the copy won't either. But, if the original had targets, the copy will have the same targets automatically, no new choices there.

Short answer: No. Copying spells in Magic The Gathering doesn't use the targeting mechanic. You're safe from things that would normally counter or interfere with targeting.

Absolutely not. I've been playing MTG for years, and copying spells or abilities doesn't count as targeting. It's a common misconception. Works great when you're trying to avoid spells that can counter by targeting.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
