Yup, downed damage totally counts towards your total damage in Apex Legends. So if you're laying into an enemy that's already hit the deck, those numbers are padding your stats. It's especially sweet when you're grinding for those high damage badges or just wanting to flex on your damage output at the end of the match.

Actually, I think focusing too much on downed players can be a waste of ammo and gives away your position. Better to eliminate the threat completely and move on.

I once got my highest damage game because I kept hitting a downed enemy with a sniper from distance. So yeah, it definitely counts.
