Does exiling count as dying in MTG?
NickelingAlan·7 months agoNah, they're totally different. If something gets exiled, it's like it's been erased from existence for a while—not dead, just gone. So, death triggers don't activate.

Absolutely not. Exiling is the game's way of saying, 'This card is outta here, but not through death.' It's a common misconception, but remember, exiling skips the graveyard completely.
Nope, exiling doesn't count as dying in Magic The Gathering. When a creature dies, it means it's being put into the graveyard from the battlefield. Exiling a creature means it's removed from the game entirely, kind of like it's been banished to another dimension. So, abilities that trigger on death won't work with exile.
