Actually, yes and no. Fallout 76 doesn't have companions in the way Fallout 4 does, where they follow you around and carry your stuff. However, with the Wastelanders update, they introduced Allies. These are like base companions; they hang out at your camp and give you quests, but they don't follow you around the map.
Lone wanderer vibe only, folks. Fallout 76 skips the companion feature, pushing for a more 'you against the world' feel. Or, you know, make friends online and make them your unwilling companions. ?
