Nah, they do different things. Field Surgeon makes your chems work faster and Life Saving might auto-revive you. One's about speeding up chems, the other's a roll of the dice to get back in the fight. They don't interact, but both are pretty cool on their own.

Can confirm, Field Surgeon is a must if you're running Life Saving gear. Got KO'd by a Scorchbeast, and that auto-revive kicked in. Thanks to Field Surgeon, popped a Stimpak and was back to full health in no time. These perks together? Chef's kiss for solo play.
