Does 'fight' mean 'attack' in MTG?
BustingSpire路7 months agoNope, 'fight' and 'attack' are different things in MTG. When a card says 'fight', it means two creatures deal damage to each other based on their power, but it's not part of the combat phase. It's like a mini battle initiated by spells or abilities. Whereas 'attack' is when you declare attackers during your combat phase to reduce your opponent's life points or attack their planeswalkers.

Totally different! 'Fight' is a card effect that makes creatures deal damage to each other. 'Attack' is what you do on your turn to try and win the game. Don't mix 'em up if you're planning your next move.
'Fight' in MTG is more like a duel to the damage between two creatures, outside of the regular attack phase. So, it's not the same as an 'attack' where creatures go head-to-head aiming for the opponent's life total or planeswalkers during combat.
