Nope, you don't need PlayStation Plus to play FFXIV. Just the game itself and an active Square Enix account!

From personal experience, I鈥檝e been playing Final Fantasy XIV without PS Plus. As long as you have the game and an active subscription with Square Enix, you鈥檙e good to go.
