Does Fossil Find see itself in the grave in MTG?

Short answer: No. Once you cast Fossil Find, it’s on the stack, not in the graveyard. So, when you're looking to return a card, Fossil Find isn't hanging out in the graveyard to choose itself.

Nah, Fossil Find can't scoop itself up from the graveyard because it's not there chillin' with the rest of the cards by the time you're checking for what to retrieve. It's all about the timing - when you're casting it, it's not in the graveyard, so it can't pick itself.

Everybody thinks Fossil Find can grab itself from the graveyard, but it can't. Played it a bunch of times, and every time, it's a no-go. The spell's gotta be in the grave when you're picking a card to return, and Fossil Find is off doing its magic in the aether when you're making the choice.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
