GamePass won't work out-of-the-box on Steam Deck because it's made for Steam games, not Xbox. But, if you're tech-savvy, you might find a way to play those games by installing Windows on your Deck. It’s not straightforward, though!

Nope, doesn't work natively. GamePass is Xbox's thing, Steam Deck runs Steam. Two different playgrounds, buddy.

While GamePass itself as a service doesn't directly integrate with the Steam platform, which means you can't access GamePass games through the Steam Store or Steam's library, the Steam Deck's underlying operating system is a version of Linux that can potentially run Windows applications through compatibility layers like Proton. This means that with some tweaking, it's possible to access GamePass on a Steam Deck by installing Windows or using compatibility tools to run the Xbox app. However, it's not officially supported, so expect some tinkering and varying levels of success.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
