I've tried using Grafdigger's Cage to stop cascade in a game once, thinking I was clever. Spoiler: it didn't work. Cascade doesn't care about the Cage since it exiles cards before casting them. Learned that the hard way!

Yep, Grafdigger's Cage actually doesn't stop the cascade mechanic in MTG. The reason is that cascade doesn't cast the card from the graveyard or library directly, but exiles it first. So, since the card you're cascading into isn't entering the battlefield from those zones directly, Grafdigger's Cage doesn't affect it. Cascade away, my friend!

Nope, Grafdigger's Cage won't do squat against cascade. Cascade bypasses it by exiling cards before anything gets cast. So, if you're trying to shut down cascade with Grafdigger's, you're gonna need a new plan.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
