Yes, haste in Magic The Gathering does affect abilities— but only in a specific context. Haste allows creatures to ignore the 'summoning sickness' rule, meaning they can attack and use tap or untap abilities on the same turn they come into play. So, if a creature has an ability that requires it to tap, it can use that ability right away if it has haste.

Hot take: The only thing haste does is let creatures attack or use tap/untap abilities the turn they're played. It doesn't do anything else for abilities that don't require tapping. So, yeah, haste applies, but not to every ability out there.

Absolutely, haste applies to abilities requiring tapping. Played a lot of MTG, and I've rushed opponents down using hasty creatures with tap abilities on the very turn they hit the board. It's a game-changer in many matches.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
