Does Haunt Follow a Copied Creature in MTG?
CarryingTree路7 months agoNope, Haunt doesn't follow a copied creature. When you copy a creature in MTG, you're only copying the creature's base characteristics and any modifications at that moment. Haunt attaches to creatures or players when the haunted card dies, but a copy of a creature isn't treated as the same entity for Haunt's effects. So if the original creature that was haunted dies, the Haunt effect doesn't transfer over to the copy.

Actually, Haunt won't haunt a copy. It's all about the specific creature or player the haunt ability was originally attached to. Magic The Gathering rules are pretty clear that copying a creature doesn鈥檛 copy over abilities that attach to other cards or players.
Haunt hates copies. If you think about it, copy effects like Clone only mimic what they see at face value - they're like the ultimate surface-level fans. Haunted? Nope, that's too deep for them.
