Does an HDD Work with the Xbox Series S?
ImplementingPons路5 months agoYes, but it's like using a flip phone in a smartphone era. You can only store old-gen games and media; new-gen games need the internal SSD or official expansion card.

HDD with Series S? Sure, but for storage only!
Yep, an external HDD works with the Xbox Series S! You can store and play Xbox One games off it, but Series S/X games will need transferring to the internal storage or the official expansion card for play.
I've tried it! External HDDs are great for extra storage, especially for those Xbox One and 360 games. Just remember you'll need the internal SSD for the cool new Series S/X titles.
