Yep, if you wanna jump into the multiplayer aspect of Helldivers on PlayStation, you'll need PS Plus. The game itself is a blast with friends, but solo missions are still on the table without it!
From personal experience, yes, PS Plus is necessary for multiplayer. Found out the hard way when I tried to join friends and got blocked. Worth it for the teamwork and chaos though!
