Nope, the anime doesn't cover the whole manga. The 2011 series ends around the end of the Chimera Ant arc and the beginning of the Chairman Election arc, leaving out some of the manga's story, including the Dark Continent Expedition arc. So, if you want the full tale, dive into the manga!
