It sure does! It happens right before they dive into the Greed Island arc.
Yes, there’s a time skip right after the Yorknew City arc where about six months pass. Gon and Killua use that time to train for Greed Island.
Technically, there's a brief timeskip during the series, but it's not like some massive overhaul or anything.
