Does land count as a spell in Magic The Gathering?
Nope, land doesn't count as a spell in Magic The Gathering. Lands are a type of card you can play during your turn, but they're not spells. Spells are cards you cast by spending mana, which lands provide. So, think of lands as the fuel for your spells, not spells themselves.

Absolutely not! Lands are the backbone of your deck's mana base, enabling you to cast spells. But they don't go on the stack like spells do because you don't actually 'cast' lands. You just play them, hopefully smoothly, to power up your game.
Gonna have to disagree with everyone. Sure, lands aren't spells, but they're just as important. Without lands, your spells are just pretty paper. So, respect the land!
