Nope, lands don't start tapped when you play them in Magic The Gathering. Unless a card's effect or a specific rule for the land you're playing says otherwise, lands enter the battlefield untapped and ready to rock! So, go ahead and tap it for mana on the same turn, unless of course, you're facing off against something sneaky your opponent has up their sleeve.

Lands come into play untapped unless stated otherwise by the card or an effect in play. There are some lands with conditions or abilities that might cause them to enter tapped, but that's the exception, not the rule. Always read your cards!

Actually, lands entering tapped can be a good thing in some cases. Certain lands provide added benefits or options if they enter the battlefield tapped. It's all about strategy!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
