Nope, leaving the battlefield in MTG doesn't count as 'dying.' A creature only 'dies' if it goes from the battlefield directly to the graveyard. If it’s getting exiled, bounced back to someone’s hand, or shuffled into a library, it’s not considered dying. So, 'dying' has a very specific meaning in the game that involves the graveyard.

No. Dying = graveyard. Anything else is just a field trip.

Actually, dying means something pretty specific in Magic: The Gathering. It’s when a creature hits the graveyard from the battlefield. So, if your creature is getting teleported out of existence into the exile zone or bouncing back to your hand, it's not dying. Important distinction for certain cards and abilities!

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you’re wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
