Does life loss deal damage in MTG?
BivouacingFirm路7 months agoNope, in Magic The Gathering, life loss isn't the same as damage. While both can reduce a player's life total, damage is something that creatures and spells can deal, and it can be prevented or redirected. Life loss, on the other hand, simply subtracts from your life total directly and usually can't be prevented in the same way.

Actually, they're different! Damage can lead to life loss, but not all life loss is due to damage. MTG rules keep 'em separate.
Short answer: No. Damage can cause life loss, but direct life loss skips the damage step entirely.
