Actually, negative toughness is a one-way ticket to the graveyard for a creature, but it's not damage. It's more like the universe saying, "This creature doesn't have the heart to stay in the fight."

Nope, negative defense and toughness don't count as damage in Magic The Gathering. They're totally different mechanics. Damage reduces a creature's toughness but doesn't permanently change its toughness stat. If a creature's toughness hits zero or goes negative because of effects or counters, it's put into the graveyard, but that's not damage; it's just good ol' death by stats.

Nah, damage and negative toughness are like apples and oranges in MTG. Damage can lead to death if it's enough, but negative toughness? That creature is already considering its afterlife options.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
