Does opponent proliferate all in MTG?
AttemptingDance路7 months agoJust to set the record straight: Proliferate lets the controller choose what gets an extra counter, not everything on the field. So, if your opponent is proliferating, they're likely beefing up their own things, not yours.

LOL, well that would be something, wouldn't it? But no, proliferate in Magic The Gathering doesn't just let your opponent go wild proliferating everything. When you or an effect says 'proliferate,' it lets the player who's doing the proliferating choose which permanents and/or players get another counter of a type already there. So if your opponent controls the proliferate effect, they can't just slap extra counters on all your stuff unless they choose to. Strategic, huh?
From experience, when my opponent hits me with proliferate, they're usually up to no good for themselves, not helping me out. It's all about strategy and whom the effect benefits!
No way. Proliferate is selective, not an all-you-can-eat counter buffet for every card on the battlefield.
