Nah, Pokemon TCG has some strict rules and using altered energy cards or any altered cards can definitely get you a side-eye in official tournaments. Keep 'em original for the competitive scene!

Hard no. Altered cards of any kind, energy or not, are a big no-no in any official Pokemon TCG play. Save your art skills for the fridge at home.

From personal experience, casual play? Sure, no one really minds. Won a few matches with my cool-looking Pikachu doodle on an energy card. Official play? Not a chance.

Actually, it depends on what you mean by 'altered'. If it's just some minor, non-identifiable doodles that don't cover key details, your local game night might let it slide. But for official tournaments? Keep those cards as they came out of the pack.

If you're a Pokemon TCG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of Pokemon cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
