Does Protection Save From Being Chosen in MTG?

Nope, protection in MTG doesn't stop a card from being chosen. Protection usually stops things like damage, enchanting, blocking, and targeting from whatever it's protecting against. However, if a spell or ability chooses something without targeting, like saying "choose a creature," then protection won't save that creature from being chosen.

Actually, protection in MTG is very specific and doesn't prevent a creature from being chosen by effects that don't target. So if an effect says "choose" without explicitly targeting, your creature with protection can still be chosen. Learned this the hard way in a game last week!

Big misconception here! Protection doesn't work against being chosen. It's all about the targeted stuff, damaging, enchanting, you name it. But choose? Nope, free game.

Protection=good for dodging damage, enchantments, and stuff. Stopping someone from choosing it? Nah, doesn't work like that.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
