Does Protection Save From Being Chosen in MTG?
WhammellingSuite路7 months agoNope, protection in MTG doesn't stop a card from being chosen. Protection usually stops things like damage, enchanting, blocking, and targeting from whatever it's protecting against. However, if a spell or ability chooses something without targeting, like saying "choose a creature," then protection won't save that creature from being chosen.

Actually, protection in MTG is very specific and doesn't prevent a creature from being chosen by effects that don't target. So if an effect says "choose" without explicitly targeting, your creature with protection can still be chosen. Learned this the hard way in a game last week!
Big misconception here! Protection doesn't work against being chosen. It's all about the targeted stuff, damaging, enchanting, you name it. But choose? Nope, free game.
Protection=good for dodging damage, enchantments, and stuff. Stopping someone from choosing it? Nah, doesn't work like that.
