Nope, protection won't save your creatures from board wipes in MTG. Protection specifically stops damage, targeting, being enchanted/equipped, and blocking by whatever it's protected from. Since most board wipes don't target or deal damage but rather say 'destroy all creatures' or something similar, your protected creatures will go poof along with the rest.

Short answer: no. Protection in MTG doesn't stop board wipes. Board wipes aren't picky; they take out everything on the board, protection or not.

Actually, it depends on the wording of the board wipe and the protection. For example, if a board wipe causes damage and your creature has protection from that damage's color, it'll survive. But most board wipes just destroy or exile without targeting or dealing damage, so protection doesn't help there.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
