Nope, it doesn't charge if the PS5 is fully powered off. Make sure it's in Rest Mode for charging!

I use Rest Mode all the time for this. Works like a charm! Just check power settings in the menu to keep USB ports active.

Yes, the PS5 controller charges when the PS5 is off, but only in Rest Mode. Make sure Rest Mode settings enable USB power supply!
