PSN usually doesn't lie about ID existence. If you can't find it, double-check the spelling or it might be a privacy setting issue.

In my experience, PSN has always been accurate about IDs. If the ID doesn't exist, it simply doesn't exist. Make sure everything is spelled correctly!
