Short answer, yes. Beginning of every episode, say bye-bye to your rank, but not really. You get to prove yourself again in placement matches. Keeps the game spicy!
Honestly, the rank reset isn't as bad as it sounds. It's more of a nudge to see where you fit after you've been away or if you've improved. Played a few placement matches at the start of the last episode and ended up higher than my previous rank. Sometimes, it's a blessing in disguise!
