Absolutely, yes! In Magic The Gathering, if Rehyan is on the battlefield and something happens that causes it to die (like damage or destruction effects), it definitely 'sees' itself die. This is because MTG rules state that before anything gets officially moved to the graveyard, all state-based actions are checked and last known information is used to resolve any triggers. So, Rehyan would trigger its own ability upon death.

Nah, cards don't have eyes. Jokes aside, yes, according to MTG's rules, a card like Rehyan would trigger its own ability because it 'sees' itself dying as part of the state-based actions.

From personal experience, yes. Had a game where Rehyan's death triggered its own ability. The consensus from our group, which has some pretty seasoned players, was that it does 'see' itself die, triggering any abilities it has related to that.

If you're an MTG player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is a pack of MTG cards, which you can win and get sent to you essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
