Not really, fam. Steam Overlay is pretty light and usually doesn't mess with your FPS much. It's designed to be minimally invasive so you can chat, browse, or grab screenshots without tanking your game's performance. However, if your PC is already struggling to keep up, having anything extra running can pinch a few frames.

It's all about what your rig can handle. High-end systems? No sweat. But on older or budget setups, even the lean Steam Overlay might nibble a bit at your FPS. It's less about Steam being a resource hog and more about what your PC can take.

Actually, Steam Overlay can affect FPS, but mostly on older machines. Turn it off if every frame counts for you.

Nope. Been gaming on Steam for years and Overlay has never been the culprit for FPS drops. It's so seamless, it's like it's not even there.

If you're a Steam player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official Steam gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!
