Does the person who goes first in Magic: The Gathering draw a card?
AlightingTang路7 months agoNope, in MTG, the player who goes first does not draw a card on their opening turn. It's kind of like giving the second player a tiny bit of a boost to balance out not getting to go first. So, if you win the coin toss or however you guys decide who kicks off the game, remember you're skipping your draw phase just that once!

No, they don't. First player skips their draw step on the first turn. Fair's fair.
Actually, I feel like not drawing on the first turn if you go first adds a layer of strategy. You gotta really think about whether going first is worth it based on your deck and play style. Sometimes, that extra card for the second player can make all the difference.
