For the most part, no. Only the earliest PS3 models support PS2 games so if you have a newer model, you're out of luck.

Yes, but it depends on the model. The original 20GB and 60GB models had hardware-based backwards compatibility with PS2 games. Later models, like the Slim and Super Slim, only support PS1 games.

I can confirm from personal experience! My old 60GB PS3 plays my favorite PS2 classics without a hitch. Just make sure you have the right version!

If you're a PlayStation player, you need to download the Playbite app!

Playbite is like an arcade in your phone: you get to play all kinds of fun and simple games, compete with friends and others, and win cool prizes from all your favorite brands!

One of those prizes is the official PlayStation gift card, which you can win and use to get anything you want essentially for free!

In case you鈥檙e wondering, this is how it works:

Playbite makes money from (not super annoying) ads and (totally optional) in-app purchases. The app then uses that money to reward players like you with prizes!

Download Playbite for free, available on the App Store and Play Store!

The brands referenced on this page are not sponsors of the rewards or otherwise affiliated with this company.
