Hot take: Wingmate Roc is good but not that special. Its ability only triggers on attack, so it's not 'activating more' unless you're constantly in a position to attack safely. There are better cards out there.

Absolutely! In MTG, Wingmate Roc's ability triggers whenever it attacks, which means every time you declare it as an attacker during your combat phase, you'll get to gain 1 life for each attacking creature. Plus, don't forget its Raid ability – if you attacked with a creature on the turn you play Wingmate Roc, you get a bonus 3/4 bird token with flying. So, more attacking=more activation!
