Xbox Game Pass by itself doesn't include online multiplayer. You need Xbox Live Gold or the Ultimate version of Game Pass for that!

Game Pass alone doesn't cover online multiplayer. I had to upgrade to Ultimate to play games with my friends online. Worth it though!
