I had the same problem with my surround sound system. Xbox Series X doesn't have an optical output, so I ended up using an HDMI audio extractor. Works like a charm!

Unfortunately, the Xbox Series X doesn't come with an optical output. You'll need to use HDMI or get an HDMI audio extractor if you need one.
