Have vs Are Indestructible in Magic The Gathering
SawingBully路7 months agoIn MTG, 'have indestructible' means the creature gains indestructible as an effect, maybe temporarily from a spell or ability. 'Are indestructible' means the creature's default state is indestructible, usually printed right on the card. Big difference in gameplay! 'Have' can be lost with a removal of an effect, but 'are' is much harder to get rid of without specific cards.

Just remember, neither saves you from a good exile. Whether they 'have' or 'are' indestructible, an 'Exile target creature' spell doesn't discriminate.
"Are indestructible" creatures hold up better against board wipes that don't exile or force sacrifices. From my battles, they're the MVPs when you can't afford to lose your field.
