It's pretty accurate! Makoto Yukimura, the creator, put a lot of effort into researching the Viking era. However, like any historical drama, it's not 100% perfect.

Vinland Saga is surprisingly accurate when it comes to depicting Viking culture and history. The series takes some liberties for dramatic effect, but the core events and settings are well-researched.

From a history nerd's point of view, Vinland Saga nails the Viking lifestyle and the geopolitical landscape of the time. The battles, social structures, and even some characters are based on real historical figures and events.

Honestly, it's not a documentary, but it's got some solid historical groundwork.
