Elements are arranged by increasing atomic number (that's the number of protons) and by electron configuration. It's kind of like a well-organized party where everyone sits according to their similarities!

The elements are placed in rows called periods and columns known as groups. Elements in the same group have similar chemical properties. Neat, right?

Increasing atomic number, periods, and groups based on recurring properties. It's science's version of a super-organized closet!
