How do battle cards work in Magic: The Gathering?
MuggingCreek路7 months agoActually, 'battle cards' isn't a term officially used in Magic: The Gathering. Assuming you're talking about cards that are used in combat, that's mainly creature cards. You play these by paying their mana cost and you can attack your opponents or block their attacks with them. The power/toughness stats on the card tell you how hard they hit and how much damage they can take.

In MTG, battle cards typically refer to creature cards, which you use to attack your opponents and defend against their creatures. Each creature card has power (how much damage it deals) and toughness (how much damage it can take before being destroyed). You can summon creatures by paying their mana cost. During your turn, you can declare which of your creatures are attacking and your opponent can choose if and how they block with their own creatures. The goal is generally to reduce your opponent's life points to zero!
Battle cards? You mean creatures, right? Just play 'em and smack your opponent until their life hits zero. Easy peasy.
