Beat Cliff by exploiting type weaknesses. Fight his Tyranitar with a Fighting-type, zap his Water-types with Electric, and crush his Poison-types with Psychic.

To beat Cliff, you'll need a mix of strong counters. Start with a Fighting-type like Machamp to take down his Tyranitar. Then, stock up on some Electric-types for his Water-types, like Swampert. You can’t go wrong with a strong Psychic-type like Mewtwo for his Poison-types. Good luck, Trainer!
