Boruto got the curse mark when he defeated Momoshiki Otsutsuki. After the fight, Momoshiki left the Karma seal on him. It's a major plot twist!

Boruto got the curse mark, also known as the Karma seal, after defeating a member of the Otsutsuki clan named Momoshiki. During the battle, Momoshiki managed to transfer his Karma to Boruto before he died. Pretty intense stuff!
