Pro tip from experience: if you're done for good, choose to also prevent the group from adding you again in the confirmation dialog.
Click the group name, then on the cover photo, click 'Joined', and select 'Leave Group'. Simple as that!
Just go to the group, hit the 'Joined' button under the cover photo, and select 'Leave Group.' You're done!
